Synthesis and bactericide activity of Ag1+ doped In(OH)3

Full text:In recent years papers report that different types of food and environmental sources harbor bacteria that are resistant to one or more antibiotics [1]. Nanomaterials are efficient, since they are able to attach more copies of microbial assemblage and cells [2]. Silver nanoparticles have probed their efficacy as alternative antimicrobial material over a wide variety of bacteria. Therefore, are usually introduced into medical materials as bactericides for preventing device-associated infections [3]. 1% at Ag-doped In(OH)3 nanoparticles were prepared by the rapid and efficient microwave-assisted hydrothermal (MAH) method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FEG-SEM) were used to characterization the materials. The antibacterial activities of the samples were evaluated against Gram negative Escherichia coli bacteria and Gram positive Staphylococcus aureus bacteria by the disc diffusion method. The results therefore reveal that In(OH)3:1% at Ag1+ structure is a promising bactericide that can be used for deactivating microbes. References: [1] A. D. Anderson, J. M .Nelson, S. Rossiter, F. J.
