Electron-spin-resonance study on the size effects of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 nanoparticles

Description
In this work, a detailed analysis on the electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra within a broad temperature range (80-400 K) is performed for studying the size effects of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 nanoparticles synthesized by a sol-gel route. Our ESR results reveal that La 0.7Sr0.3MnO3 nanoparticles with grain sizes of 28 and 48 nm have two magnetic states below the Curie temperatures Tc, which is attributed to the different surface states. One is with the aligned surface spins, the other is with the disordered surface spins. (copyright 2008 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH and Co. KGaA, Weinheim) (orig.)
