On a relation of a radial dependence of rigidity with the shape of the proton spectrum in the Earth radiation belts

Description

Results of calculations of boundary positions of exponential and power sections of spectrum of protons in the Earth radiation belts (RB) are presented. Experimental data obtained in the range outside the RB maximum and not far from the equatorial plane are considered for the analysis. It is revealed by data of measurements at satellites in 1961-1977 for magnetic- calm conditions that in the range outside the maximum RB laws according to which spectrum rigidity varies at the change of L shell (in a fixed energy range) are uniquely associated with the form of the proton spectrum. The RB proton spectrum quantitatively agrees with proton spectrum in a plasma layer
