In-pile study of irradiation creep of structural materials for reactor

Description

Results of in-pile studies of irradiation creep of structural materials for nuclear power industry are presented. Series of tests for study of irradiation creep of 00Kh16N15M3B steel, KhNM1, Eh110, Eh635, VTKh8 alloys was conducted. Values of moduli of irradiation creep for mentioned materials are given. Investigations of temperature dependence of irradiation creep of Eh110 alloy showed, that the main contribution to its deformation at temperatures of 350 deg C and higher was made by thermal creep. The energy of thermal activation of creep was equal to 36 ± 8 kcal/(g x at) in 370-455 deg C range. Phenomenon of periodical quick deformation of material against the background of irradiation creep at stresses sufficiently lower than the yield strength of nonirradiated material, was revealed when testing zirconium alloys. 9 refs.; 6 figs
