Behaviour of chaotic magnetic field lines in a periodic system (Tokamak)

Description
The statistical properties of chaotic field lines are analytically studied and numerically tested from the field line equations. When the chaotic region coexists with magnetic islands, the chaotic field lines follow a diffusion process through the island chains. The corresponding diffusion coefficient is defined as the inverse of the average number of toroidal turns made by the field lines to cross one island chain and it is numerically computed

Les proprietes statistiques des lignes de champ chaotiques sont etudiees analytiquement et eprouvees numeriquement a partir des equations des lignes de champ. Dans le cas ou la region chaotique coexiste avec des ilots magnetiques, les lignes de champ chaotiques suivent une loi de diffusion a travers les chaines d'ilot. Le coefficient de diffusion correspondant est defini comme l'inverse du nombre moyen de tours toroidaux effectues par les lignes de champ pour traverser une chaine d'ilot et il est calcule numeriquementAdditional details
