Design of composition and physicochemical properties of flux for electroslag remelting of nickel
Description
Results of physicochemical properties measurement for flux compositions 55%CaF2, 5%Al2O3Na2O, 35-32%(MgO+SiO2) -density, electric conductivity and viscosity, surface and interphase tension are presented. Temperature dependences of the properties are analyzed. Results of electroslag remelting of nickel (NP-2 grade) in mobile crystallizer for ingot diameter 105 mm are presented. The process of remelting is stable, magnesium melting loss decreases two times, ingot quality meats the standard requirements
