Description
As acoustic emission (AE) has become increasingly used for the detection of flaws in structural parts, it has become widely known that this method can also be successfully applied to detect and locate leaks. The advantages of AE are in the field of plant monitoring and integral examination of large structural parts. In the present paper the principles of the method and the available experience in the field of leak detection are compiled. It was largely possible to use the experience gained by Battelle-Institut e.V. and Kraftwerk Union AG in the evaluation of structural parts and plants by means of acoustic emission and in systematic development work. Abstract (German)
Seitdem die Schallemissionsanalyse (SEA) in zunehmendem Masse zur Fehlerpruefung in Bauteilen eingesetzt wird, ist in groesserem Umfang bekannt, dass das Verfahren auch erfolgreich zum Nachweis und zur Lokalisierung von Leckagen eingesetzt werden kann. Die Vorteile des Verfahrens liegen auf dem Gebiet der kontinuierlichen Betriebsueberwachung und der integralen Pruefung grosser Bauteile. Im vorliegenden Beitrag sind die Grundlagen des Verfahrens und die bisherigen Erfahrungen beim Nachweis von Leckagen zusammengestellt. Hierbei konnte weitgehend auf die im Battelle-Institut und bei der Kraftwerk Union AG vorhandenen Erfahrungen aufgebaut werden, die im Rahmen von SEA-Pruefungen an Bauteilen und Anlagen und gezielten Entwicklungsarbeiten gewonnen wurden.
