Temperature dependence of magnetostriction in Ba2Zn2Fe12O22
Description
The magnetostriction of Ba2Zn2Fe12O22 single crystal has been investigated by means of the three capacitance method in the temperature range from the liquid nitrogen to the room temperature, and the results are discussed with respect to the magnetocrystalline configuration. The magnetostriction lambda100 and lambda001 are saturated with the value of -2.2 x 10-6 and +1.0 x 10-6 in the magnetic field of about 1kOe and 10kOe at room temperature, respectively. The magnetostriction can be well represented as Gersdorf's formula whose constants K1, K2, K3 and K4 are monotonously varied from -2.6, -4.4, -7.7 and -7.8 x 10-6 at 77K to +0.3, -2.2, -3.6 and -4.1 x 10-6 at 290K, respectively.
