Description

Objective: To discuss the correlation between the breast density measured by software of the computer aided detection (CAD) system and MRI software. Methods: Retrospective analysis of 110 cases of female patients with mammography and MRI was performed, and the time interval of the two examinations was less than 2 months. Images of mammography were fed into CAD system with Quantra software processing, the computer automatically calculated the breast volume, mammary gland volume and the breast density. MRI images imported into PMOD breast volume and mammary gland volume measurement software, breast volume, mammary gland volume, and breast density were generated by the software. The correlation of CAD system Quantra software and MRI PMOD software was made by Pearson method among the breast volume, mammary gland volume and the breast density. Results: Mammography CAD system Quantra software measured breast volume, mammary gland volume and breast density were (535 ± 282) cm3, (106 ± 69) cm3 and (21 ± 9)%, the values measured by MRI PMOD software were (487 ± 260) cm3, (94 ± 64) cm3 and (20 ± 9)%. The values of the two examination have high correlation (r were 0.988, 0.979 and 0.944; P < 0.01). Conclusion: Measurements of breast volume, mammary gland volume, and breast density obtained using Mammography CAD system and MRI PMOD software appear to have excellent correlation. (authors)
