Description

Energy levels of 76 Se have been studied from the decay of 76 As with a Ge(Li) Compton suppression spectrometer, and Ge(Li)-NaI(TI) and Ge(Li)-Ge(Li) coincidence spectrometers. Directional-correlation measurements have been performed on four cascades with Ge(Li)-Nal(Tl) detector arrangements. Forty-four gamma rays were observed, 43 of them were assigned to a level scheme of 76 Se with 16 excited levels. Spin assignments of 2 for the levels at 1216.08 and 1787.64 keV were confirmed. The 657.03 keV transition was a mixture of 97% E 2 and 3% M 1. The level at 1122.33 keV was definitely determined to have a spin of 0. The spin of the 1688.97 keV level was assigned as 3 and the 1129.30 keV transition was nearly of Ml. The 1228.52 keV transition was of a mixture of 53% Ml and 47% E2.
