Description
The paper describes a relativistic klystron design with grid control and a focusing system based on permanent magnets. The results of klystron electron-optical system testing are presented. As a whole, the klystron behaviour is close to the design one when voltage does not exceed 750 kV. An average peak output power of 15 MW and 10 MW is achieved in pulse. No limitations related to electric strength of klystron output system and SHF windows are observed at this power level. 7 refs., 6 figs
