Description
Considered is cylindrical plasma filament confined by a magnetic field in which the internal helical mode is characterized by the azimuthal wave number m=1 and by the fact that it does not perturb the plasma boundary. It has been elucidated that for real parameters of plasma confined by a magnetic field the increments of the internal helical modes can be much higher due to finite conductivity effects than those estimated from the idealized MHD model
