Measurement of the anisotropy of the dielectric constant of 3He-A

Description

An experiment to measure anisotropy in the dielectric constant of superfluid 3He-A is described. The dielectric constant is measured with parallel plate capacitors immersed in 3He; the anisotropy axis l is oriented by means of a magnetic field. At T/sub AB/ and 29 bar, the observed anisotropy is in reasonable agreement with theory
