Negligible contributions of emissions from nuclear installations to concentrations of radionuclides in milk

  • 1. National Radiological Protection Board, Harwell (UK)

Description

A summary is given of a NRPB study of whether there were any significant increases in concentrations of caesium-137, strontium-90 and sulphur-35 in milk at the point where milk from farms near nuclear installations is mixed with milk from farms further afield before being sold to the general public. The survey demonstrated that no effect attributable to discharges from the nuclear establishments studied could be identified. (U.K.)
