Cultivating transportation relationships: The communications enigma

Creators

  • 1. Nunn, Yoest, Pritza and Associates, Inc., Kansas City, MO

Description

Transportation, a critical component of the Nuclear Industry's total mission, is an area where problems exist, especially as it relates to rail transportation. Cooperation between the Nuclear Industry and the Transportation Carrier Community is being negatively impacted by flaws in effective communication, which, if improved, can provide great benefits to both parties. This paper addresses the level of understanding which exists today, the areas which are especially troublesome and must be overcome, why it is important to the Nuclear Industry to make this effort, and, finally, the causes and suggested solutions for taking corrective action. The paper is not intended to answer all aspects of what is required, but rather provide a starting point of understanding from which to develop future programs
