Phase equilibria in pseudoternary system HfO2-Y2O3-Al2O3

Description
HfO2-Y2O3 and HfO2-Y2O3-Al2O3 systems are investigated at 1800 deg C using annealing and hardening techniques. Occurrence of 5 three-phase ranges and 5 two-phase ones which divide them is shown. Experimental data agree qualitatively with results of thermodynamic analysis. No ternary compounds are determined to occur in the system. Mutual solubility of binary phases is not detected whithin experiment error limits
