Description
Stress corrosion of Alloy 600 steam generator tubing often occurs in the rolling transition zone. To prevent cracking or to bridge over and stop the propagation of existing cracks, a thin layer of nickel is coated inside the tube. The process principle, the licensing files, the tube inspection after repair, and the field experience of FRAMATOME nickel electroplating are briefly described. (author)
