The determination of uranium and plutonium concentration and isotopic composition in nuclear irradiated fuel

Description
The determination of uranium and plutonium concentration and isotopic composition in a nuclear irradiated fuel sample was obtained by isotopic dilution man spectrometry technique. The methods involves the addition of double spike solutions (233 U and 242 Pu) to the sample, chemical separation of uranium and plutonium by ion exchange technique, and their mass spectrometric analysis. The precision obtained for the 235 U/238 U and 242 Pu/239 Pu were 0,1 and 0,4% respectively. The uranium and plutonium concentration were obtained with a precision of 0,55% e 0,84% respectively.
