Plasma effects in surface barrier detectors
Description
The plasma deceleration (delay of the charge carrier concentration) has been analyzed as a function of the ion mass, the ion energy, the specific resistance of the detector and the electric field intensity. The measurement of the pulse amplitude deficiency for the kinds of ions Kr-84, Sn-120 and U-238 has been realized with four different kinds of energy each with two detector types (416 Ω cm, 1700 Ω cm) with different detector operating currents. A simple model for the calculation of the recombination losses is presented. A Cf-252 source with its fission fragments has been applied. (DG)

Die Plasmaverzoegerung (Verzoegerung der Ladungstraegerkonzentration) wurde in Abhaengigkeit von der Ionenmasse, der Ionenenergie, dem spezifischen Widerstand des Detektors und der elektrischen Feldstaerke untersucht. Die Messung des Impulshoehendefekts erfolgte fuer die Ionenarten Kr-84, Sn-120 und U-238 bei jeweils vier verschiedenen Energien mit zwei Detektortypen (416 Ω cm, 1700 Ω cm) bei unterschiedlichen Detektorspannungen. Ein einfaches Modell zur Berechnung der Rekombinationsverluste wird vorgestellt. Zur Anwendung kam eine Cf-252-Quelle mit ihren Spaltfragmenten. (DG)Additional details
