Lichens bioaccumulation and pollutants degradation
- 1. Rome, Univ. (Italy). Dipt. di chimica
Description
The applications of lichens in order to the biomonitoring of atmospheric pollution are numerous. This work proposes the utilization of lichens for the biomonitoring of the phenolic components that are present in the waters of the industrial wastes. Particularly the 2-chlorophenol has been considered. In order to interpret the capacity of adsorption and degradation from the lichens and to define the relative mechanisms, experiments both of adsorption in batch and studies and of photo and biodegradation have been performed
