The book deals with ceramic materials, especially new ceramic materials in their function as structural materials. From the technology of high-performance ceramics, concerning their functions, based on thermal, electrical, magnetical and optical properties, up to the various forms of structural ceramics, as e.g. oxidic structural ceramics, bioceramics or silicon carbides, the ceramic materials are examined primarily for their applications. Rounding up the topic, the book finally also deals with ceramic composites and specific methods of materials testing for structural ceramics. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
In diesem Buch werden keramische Werkstoffe, vor allem neue keramische Werkstoffe in ihrer Funktion als Konstruktionswerkstoffe dargestellt. Ausgehend von der Technologie der Hochleistungskeramik ueber ihre Funktionen, deren Grundlagen thermische, elektrische, magnetische und optische Eigenschaften bilden, bis hin zu den verschiedenen Formen der Konstruktionskeramik, wie z.B. oxidische Konstruktionskeramik, Biokeramik oder Siliciumcarbidwerkstoffe, werden die keramischen Werkstoffe in starkem Masse applikationsbezogen behandelt. Zur Abrundung der Thematik beschaeftigt sich das Buch abschliessend auch mit keramischen Verbundwerkstoffen und spezifischen Methoden der Werkstoffpruefung fuer die Konstruktionskeramik.
