Sintering of uranium dioxide pellets (U O2) in oxidative atmosphere (CO2)

Description

In this study the process of sintering of U O2 - pellets in oxidative atmosphere has been evaluated. Temperature and time of study have been varied in order to determine the influence of these parameters on final density and microstructure of the material. The NIKUSI process, allows to work in a temperature range below to those that have been employed in the conventional process, lowering in up to 50% the sintering cycle because it is possible to decrease the time of sintering.
