Magnetovolume effects in zonal magnetics
Description
The magnetic states of Y1-tGdt(Co1-xAlx)2 and Lu1-tGdt(Co1-tAlx)2 systems were studied. It is shown that when yttrium or lutetium is replaced with gadolinium in small concentration, the critical field of transition decreases, while, at high concentration of gadolinium, there develops a ferromagnetic degree of ordering. It was established that, at low temperature, in the Lu1-xtGdt(Co1-xAlx)2 system, heterogeneous magnetic phases with coexistent paramagnetic and ferromagnetic phases were formed. The additional positive and negative volume anomalies in ferromagnetic and paramagnetic phases, respectively, caused by the first-kind phase transitions in the abovementioned system are explained.
