Use of Mn K x-ray from 55Fe for establishing β-counting thresholds
Description
A simple method for the preparation of sources to produce well-defined 5.89 kev Mn K X-ray peaks by the decay of 55Fe is described. The peak is used to establish a β-counting threshold energy for the satisfactory comparison of proportional counters (U.K.)
