Quark effects in the charge distribution of 208Pb
- 1. Department of Physics and Center for Nuclear Theory, Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, Brooklyn, New York 11210
Description
In a previous work we showed that the use of medium-modified electromagnetic form factors of the nucleon, obtained from our theory of covariant soliton dynamics, led to a significant improvement in the agreement between theory and experiment for the charge density of 208Pb. Here we show that the addition of corrections to the charge density obtained in the random-phase approximation leads to a further improvement when comparing the theoretical predictions and the charge distributions extracted from the experimental data
