Description
Within the Thomas-Fermi model we have computed, for several values of the nuclear radius, the total energies of the atomic physics of the nuclearite. The transition between the pointlike nucleus and the extended nucleus asymptotic regimes is discussed. By using the virial theorem it is found that the thickness of the ''electron skin'' (s) of large nuclearites grows as s = 0.23 x 10-2Z/sup 1/3/a0, as a function of Z
