Neutral current neutrino reactions and weak charged current processes in deuterium

Description

Cross sections for the neutral current neutrino reactions ν+2H→p+n+ν and nu-bar+2H→p+n+nu-bar are calculated by the use of form factors obtained from pion-photoproduction data by means of SU(2) commutation relations via the elementary particle model. The results are extrapolated from threshold to 150 MeV in the incident neutrino energy. Charged current cross sections for the reactions ν/sub e/+2H→p+p+e- and ν/sub μ/+2H→p+p+μ- are also obtained. Averaged cross sections for the reaction ν/sub n/+2H→p+p+e- from neutrinos obtained from muon decay and for the reactions nu-bar/sub e/+2H→n+n+e+ and nu-bar/sub e/+2H→n+p+nu-bar/sub e/ from neutrinos obtained from the Savannah River reactor are also obtained and compared with recent experiments
