Thin film interdiffusion of Au-Zn and Au-Cd at room temperature
Description
Results on the thin film interdiffusion of Au-Zn and Au-Cd systems at room temperature are presented. In the Au-Zn system the interdiffusion leads to the formation of the AuZn3 and AuZn compounds, but in the Au-Cd system, to the AuCd3 and AuCd compounds. Which compound will be formed depends on the component ratio in the layer. The intermetallic compounds formed in the system Au-Zn are stable during the time, but in the system Au-Cd, in the samples with >50%Cd, after 2-3 months, new structural transformation occurs. (Auth.)
