Aluminium influence of antiferromagnetic transition in iron-manganese austenitic alloys

  • 1. Ural'skij Politekhnicheskij Inst., Sverdlovsk (USSR)

Description

In the temperature range - 196...800 deg C physical properites (thermal expansion, module of normal elasticity, electric resistance) of Fe-Mn-Al alloys with approximately 25 and approximately 40 mas.%Mn, containing from 0 to 6 mas.%Al, have been studied. It is established that alloying of manganese austenite by aluminium decreases the temperature of antiferromagnetic transition and changes considerably elastic and kinetic characteristics of γ-phase both above and below Tsub(N). In magnetoordered state alloys with Al have a negative temperature coefficient of electric resistance. Coefficient of thermal expansion below the Neel point does not practically depend on the element concentration and above Tsub(N) it increases slightly
