Process development its deployment for management of radioactive wastes
- 1. Nuclear Recycle Group, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay, Mumbai (India)
Description
Conversion of Process developmental activities into a deployable technology for Radioactive Waste Management Applications call for multi-disciplinary set of activities culminating in demonstration of process using actual waste before it gets adopted for regular operations. A few of such examples are the successful demonstration of the partitioning process and its adoption on plant scale and the spent solvent treatment process and its adoption at all the back-end waste management facilities in the country. The present focus is being directed towards treatment and management of alpha contaminated wastes. This paper will discuss the various milestones achieved and way forward in these programmes.
