Development and application of multiwire detectors in biological X-ray studies

Description

The development of a number of multiwire detectors is described for use in structural studies of biological specimen. A few examples taken from small angle scattering and diffraction and crystallography are used to illustrate the nature of the applications. As most of the detector work was originally directed at time-resolved studies of skeletal muscle, it forms the main part of the paper. (orig.)
