Chiral symmetry, constituent quarks and the π N form factor
Description
The role of chiral symmetry in the πN form factor is studied in the constituent quark model. We show that the enforcement of the symmetry requires the use of a two body quark operator, whose form does not depend on the choice of the pion-quark coupling. We also consider an application to the case of quarks confined by a harmonic potential and show that corrections due to the symmetry are quite important. (author)
