Acoustic properties of NaBi(MoO4)2 crystals

Description
A complete set of elastic moduli of NaBi(MoO4)2 monocrystals with the scheelite type structure is measured. Angular dependences of the elastic wave velocities in the plane perpendicular to the fourth order axis are calculated as well as polarization of the propagating sound wave. Directions of pure modes make up angles of 18.1 and 63.1 deg with the [100] axis of the mentioned crystal. Angles of the ultrasonic beam deflection from the wave normal in the NaBi(MoO4)2 crystal are determined. Comparison is made of elastic properties of NaBi(MoO4)2 and other crystals having of the scheelite type structure
