  • 1. Instituto Tecnologico de Costa Rica (Costa Rica)

Description

This paper introduces tangential radiographic technique as one of the most important nondestructive testing technique (NDT), available for determining wall thickness remaining in pipes emptied of filled, insulated or uninsulated. It describes its main characteristics, and the different methods used for estimating wall thickness, remaining in pipes different situations. This technique is not standardized at present, under international norms, such as ISO or Ase. However it is in process os standardization. (author)
