  • 1. Marquette Univ., Milwaukee, WI (United States). Dept. of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering
  • 2. Univ. of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA (United States). Dept. of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics

Description

The primary objectives of this paper are: (i) to develop formally the relationship between the Q-value (rest mass change) of reaction and the standardized thermodynamic property changes of reaction, (it) to propose and discuss appropriate reference datums which will correctly account for energy and entropy changes of nuclear reactions, (iii) to propose means for practical evaluation of standard entropy change for fusion and fission reactions, and (iv) to derive and expression for the exergy of reactants
