Description

In this paper inflationary models in which the exponential expansion is driven by a vector field rather than a scalar field are discussed. The vector field Aρ is assumed to be self-coupled through a potential V(ξ),ξ = AρAρ. These models have a period of anisotropic expansion after the end of inflation. The conditions under which this anisotropy will be consistent with limits placed by the cosmic blackbody radiation are discussed. it is also possible to have models in which the inflationary expansion itself is anisotropic
