Thermal bifurcation and stability of an edge diverted plasma

Description
In a previous paper the authors have found several thermal equilibria for a 1D radiating layer at contant pressure profile. The stability of such equilibria is now discussed in connection with the radiative condensation instability. The influence of the impurity density profile as the deviation to the constant pressure profile approximation is investigated numerically. (author) 3 refs., 5 figs
