Production of 70Zn beam from RIKEN 18 GHz ECR ion source

Description
We produced an intense beam of highly charged 70Zn ions from the RIKEN 18 GHz ECR ion source inserting the 70ZnO rod into the plasma directly. The consumption rate was remarkably low (0.11 mg/h) for long term operation (43 days). The average beam intensity of 70Zn16+ was 35.5 eμA. The production efficiency of 70Zn16+ ion beam was at least 6.3%
