Preventing fouling and corrosion using Technetium 99
Creators
Description
A method is claimed for the prevention of biological fouling and chemical corrosion on substrates exposed to fluid environments containing biological fouling organisms and corrosive environments which comprises treating the surfaces in a thickness of at least one atomic layer with Technetium-99, its alloys or compounds prior to exposure of substrates to the environments in an amount effective to prevent the growth of the organisms and simultaneously effective to inhibit corrosion of the substrate and exposing the substrate to the adverse fluid environment
