Radoc 96/97: a point about the radioactivity in oceans

Description
In the field of the scientific symposium R.A.D.O.C. 96/97 on the theme: 'Radionuclides in oceans', the Institute of Nuclear Protection and Safety (I.P.S.N.), and the British ministry of fishing and agriculture take stock on the radioactivity situation in oceans. The contamination of oceans are imputed to several causes: Fallout of atmospheric nuclear tests, fallout of Chernobyl accident, releases of nuclear facilities, materials lost by planes or submarines, marine disposal of radioactive wastes. A study of radioecology in the North sea showed that the renewal rate of this sea ( three-quarters closed) is superior to 75%. (N.C.)
