Nuclear reactor building
Description
In order to increase safeguard against the escape of radiation due to an accident, the fuel elements are stored in that part of the nuclear reactor containment which is filled with suppression pool water before they are carried off. The spent elements are horizontally placed side by side on the bottom of the suppression chamber. The adjacent loading chamber filled with water and situated on the outer side of the containment also presents an advantage. (RW)

(RW)Files
