Description
A new index symmetry is found to exist in classical solutions. This provides a method of constructing new solutions of the Yang-Mills equations from the existing ones by interchanging the 3 and 4 components of the gauge potential. In particular, time-dependent solutions may be constructed from static ones. The effect of the symmetry on instantons is to convert self-dual solutions to anti-self-dual solutions
