On photon polarization in the ep → epγ
Description
The process of linearly polarized photon radiation by electron in the reaction ep → epγ is calculated. A covariant expression for the differential cross section is obtained which contains only squares of the electric and magnetic proton form factors. An analysis is made of polarization effects in the rest reference frame of the initial proton. The calculation are based on the method of direct evaluation of matrix elements in the diagonal spin basis. 22 refs., 2 figs
