Dismantling of nuclear facilities. Technical-economical context and stakes in France, Germany and US
Description
At the dawn of the 21. century, the first generation of nuclear power plants will be at the end of their service-life. An increasing number of these facilities are progressively decommissioned in France and in other industrialized countries. This book tries to answer the main questions concerning the dismantling of these nuclear facilities and makes a comparative study of the situations in France, Germany and in the USA: existing solutions for the dismantlement, management of wastes, safety of the decommissioned facilities, radiological impact of the different dismantling solutions, management costs of the decommissioned facilities, responsibilities.
