Method for controlling enrichment of nuclear fuel materials
Description
Purpose: To improve the uniformity in the uranium oxide powder by increasing the mixing amount of uranium oxide in one step. Method: In a light-water cooled reactor, fuel assemblies are manufactured by using powder of different enrichment degrees and the burning efficiency is improved depending on the arrangement of the fuel assemblies. Upon controlling the enrichment degree of the powder, uranium dioxide powder is mixed in a batch type rotary mixer and the uranium oxide powder is passed through a mixer having pulverizing mechanism. In this way, the intended purpose can be attained and mass production is enabled by utilizing the powder adjusted with enrichment degree, with no thermo-nuclear problems. (Kamimura, M.)
