Audits and reviews and their effectiveness in improving plant performance
Description
Nuclear plant performance, in terms of safety, reliability, output and costs, can be influenced by implementation of recommendations and resolution of findings contained in third party audits and reviews. The third parties involved in auditing and reviewing Philadelphia Electric Company's nuclear plant operations are the following: 1) Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC); 2) Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO); 3) American Nuclear Insurers (ANI); 4) Management consultants Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC). This article discusses what each of these groups is responsible for during their audits and reviews
