Description

The authors previously studies the relationships between the thickness of porous oxide layer and the electrode properties for the SOFC air electrode, La0.6 Ca0.4MO3 (M = Mn, Co)/YSZ, and showed that the electrode reaction proceeds via air/La0.6 Ca0.4MO3/YSZ triple phase boundary. Close relationships were expected between the microstructure of electrode/YSZ interface and the electrode properties. In this work, the authors focus on the relationships between the microstructure of porous oxide layer and the properties of the electrode, air/La0.6 Ca0.4MO3/YSZ. To obtain the porous oxide layer of different morphology, they have synthesized La0.6 Ca0.4MO3 by different procedures and prepared electrode/YSZ interface by different firing temperatures
