Underground hot-water reservoir with a metallic pressure container

  • 1. Aldingen, Germany, F.R.

Description

The invention concerned an underground boiler especially as energy reservoir for nuclear reactors. The pressure container is constructed from rings or coils from steel with u-shaped cross-section. At their edges the rings or coils are welded together thus forming the cylindrical container. Small splits are provided between adjoining rings in order to enable thermic length compensation. Hollow bodies filled with gas at a pressure relating to the pressure of the hot water within the container are arranged between the container wall and the wall of the cave in which the container is situated.
