Reactor vessel

Description

Purpose: To improve the temperature distribution near the liquid level of vessel walls in LMFBR type reactors. Constitution: A cylindrical thermal liner is suspended at the inside of vessel walls from above and the lower end of the liner is extended deeply below the level of coolants as far as the upper partition plate of the reactor core. A thermal sleeve at an exit nozzle is extended to the inside of the thermal liner. An annular space thus formed between the wall and the liner is used as a stagnation area. Consequently, coolant at sufficiently low temperature can be introduced to the upper portion of the annular space, whereby the distribution of the temperature near the liquid level of the reactor vessel can be improved.
