Electron attachment in tetrafluoromethane

  • 1. University Coll. of Swansea (UK)

Description

A pulsed drift-tube technique has been employed to measure electron attachment coefficients in CF4. Previous measurements have been extended from approx. 45 Td to approx. 20 Td [1 Td = 10-21 Vm2] showing a decrease in the reduced attachment coefficient of approx. 2 orders of magnitude through this range of E/N [electric field/gas number density]. Absolute attachment coefficients as low as 1 x 10-4 cm-1 have been determined. (author)
